About Us
Libris Agency was founded by Mustafa Urgen and Bengu Ayfer Gungor - best friends and longtime colleagues in the publishing business for more than a decade. Throughout our experience, we have been acting as sub agents for many publishers and literary agencies abroad, making significant number of deals.
We are a dedicated and passionate literary agency based in Istanbul, handling translation rights of adult (fiction and non-fiction), children’s and YA books across all genres. We have an approach of offering our partners not only our expertise in negotiating contracts, but also finding the right publisher for their titles.

Bengü was born in Istanbul. After graduating from the Faculty of Communication at Marmara University, she started working for various magazines, writing about lifestyle and culture. She then stepped into publishing business and worked for ten years as a foreign rights director and has specialized in all categories of children’s books. Bengü is also a freelance translator and has translated several children’s and YA books into Turkish. She loves fairy tales and her all-time favorite book is Peter Pan.

Mustafa was born in Istanbul and grew up in Izmir. After studying Cinema and Television at Anadolu University, he returned back to his hometown and worked as an editor for several publishers. In 2010, he moved into foreign rights and worked for eight years being responsible for promoting, submitting and licensing adult titles to clients in Turkish market. He has a passion for discovering well-written non-fiction books and enjoys reading urban stories that explore different aspects of daily life.
